Salzburg

From Zell am See, I took a train to visit Salzburg for the day. The Historic Centre of Salzburg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One of the city’s biggest attractions is visiting the “The Sound of Music” film locations, such as Mirabell Gardens at Mirabell Palace, officially known as Salzburger Schloss Konzerte.

Wandering around, I discovered a trail which gave me a lovely view of the city from above.

During the rest of the day, I admired the architecture, shopped and visited the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Read “36 Hours in Salzburg” in the New York Times for recommendations of what to see and do in Salzburg.
