Dublin

Sara and I decided to travel around Ireland in honor of our 30th birthdays. After she flew in from Tel Aviv, we met in Temple Bar and raised a Guinness to toast one another for the wonderful days behind us and the better ones to come.

Beyond Temple Bar, another “must see” site is Dublin Castle. It’s one of my favorite castles of all times because of its colorful, luxe interiors – featuring a bold, contemporary palette unlike any I had ever seen inside of a castle before.

Dublin was our first and last stop on our journey. For our breakfasts, we so loved the Queen of Tarts that we tried both of their locations (on different days, of course). They offer a wonderful selection of scones and freshly baked goods, which were the perfect accompaniment to their farmer’s breakfast (eggs, breakfast meat, roasted tomatoes and toast – yum!).

My guide book recommended stopping at Bewley’s Oriental Cafe on Grafton Street—and I never pass up a good coffee!
